This week we will be looking an AI language learning tool that I found very interesting. I found out about ElsaSpeak, which is a language learning app designed to help users improve their English pronunciation and speaking skills. it acts as a personal English AI tutor, which could be useful for those who are looking for flexible and affordable tutors whilst learning at their own pace. ElsaSpeak has gained popularity among language learners worldwide with its user-friendly interface and innovative features, and upon checking the platform, I could see why!


The app uses cutting-edge speech recognition technology which means that it can easily analyze your pronunciation in real-time and provides instant feedback on areas for improvement, which is one of ELSA's strong points. Users can practice individual sounds, words, and phrases, which targets pronunciation through a series of interactive lessons and exercises.

Another feature of ElsaSpeak that caught my attention is its personalized learning approach. The app adapts to each user's proficiency level and learning pace, providing tailored lessons and recommendations based on their performance. So you just need to select your level of proficiency and the pace you want to work on in improving your language skills, and ELSA will do the rest of the work. This personalized approach helps users stay motivated and engaged in their language learning journey.



Not only that, ElsaSpeak offers a variety of practice materials, including dialogues, tongue twisters, and role-playing scenarios, to simulate real-life speaking situations. These exercises help users develop fluency and confidence in spoken English, preparing them for real-world communication!



However, like every other platform, ElsaSpeak does has some limitations. One drawback is that ELSA emphasizes on pronunciation at the expense of other language skills such as grammar, vocabulary, and listening comprehension. Pronunciation is undoubtedly important, but when it comes to language learning, learners should develop other language aspects as well to improve their language proficiency.

    I'm with you, I think the benefits of using this technology are more in terms of improved pronunciation, if someone wants to pass a professional exam like IELTS, they still need a teacher to guide them in grammar correction
